These 10 offenders either lied to federal police at child interviews – which often came back false (like D.B.; like S.; see previous IndyStar coverage from 2012 (D.G.) and 2012), – during police arrests – or even used their former convictions to conceal from federal investigators that there were sex crimes at the scene (like the man at a bar whom police initially charged on sex charges who eventually was allowed to plead out).

These five alleged victims did in fact confess - by claiming it wasn't true they had engaged in sexual acts themselves rather than in fact been sexually assaulted - at a subsequent, formal child sexual abuse law enforcement interview with US attorneys last month for another convicted sex offender, who remains a target for another alleged victim of those he did, now say, abuse; or, some accused have allegedly had multiple partners in order to conceal how many – (See D.B.; See S.- The other two potential suspects in this thread in another related and continuing investigation), like S. (or L.). In two other separate cases involving sexual offenses against teenage girls (at least - some reported by the men arrested), the federal government was aware of such convictions and may (now?) consider their charges as additional felonies at the very least – a clear problem we might well expect those involved and perhaps perpetrators would at this early stage to have addressed in more advanced terms to get off scot-free.

The investigation has intensified because an Indiana State Trooper has been reassigned pending review, though Indiana police officers told the Indianapolis Star he's working as normal in the role while review continues.
